Blizzard!

Greetings everyone,

I write to you from my cozy warm house in the midst of nearly three feet of snow.  Right now, I am housebound, as our street is snowed out.
Kind of looks like an old country road, doesn't it?  I assure you - there is an actual asphalt road under all that snow!
To give you an example of just how high this snow was...here's my car!  Kind of amazing to look at.  This was right after the task of shoveling all this snow began.
And here is what it looked like before we got started.  There are actually two cars in this photo.  Can you spot them?
About five hours after I got started, I managed to clear the path from the back door to the driveway.  Looks almost like a tunnel!
This snow pile is at the foot of the drive...the work of my hubby.  Today we're getting some icy rain.  Too bad I don't have a sled!
We've enjoyed a lot of fires in the fireplace, and I've been busy baking up a storm!  Pumpkin muffins, chocolate chip and walnut cookies.  I'm glad I had enough food in the house - although we are running seriously low on coffee creamer!  We're trying to do fun things to bide the time...watching movies, reading,   guessing how long it will take before the plows come along...
It was a historic storm - I don't ever recall a snow storm like this.  The biggest difference between this storm and the freak snow storm in October from nearly two years ago is that although we didn't lose power this time, we are instead unable to leave our home.
Our Internet service is somewhat spotty right now, but I am glad I was able to write this post to share our snow story with you!

Til next time,
Theresa

PS  We got our road plowed yesterday!  And our Internet is back up and running properly, too.  Busy catching up!

Wow, Theresa! I live in So. Cal and cannot even begin to imagine the impact of having such a blizzard occur. It sounds though that you're making the best of the situation which is wonderful! Stay warm and snuggle with your babies.

OH MY WORD!!!!!!!!!!!! What massive major snow. I have only seen real snow like that a couple of times. When on trips to the mountain snow as kids - and another time skiing in Squaw Peek. I can't ski, so it was more like, on my back hoping someone would help me get up.

I can't believe you tunneled for 5 hours!!

That is amazing.

Stay warm and cozy k?

Love, V

I bet you have the arm muscles of an Olympian! Man, that is a lot of snow!!

Heaven forbid you run out of creamer!! No!!!!!

I will send my plow wishes to you. Movies, cuddles and fires are fantastic....but baked goods without a cup of coffee and cream is torture! Haha!

Biggest hugs, Dear Friend!

That is some truly amazing snow right there!!
The photos are awesome as well...
Where I live it never snows, so to see snow like this is sort of "romantic" to me - I probably wouldn't think so if I was stuck in it though!!
Just staying home, keeping warm, baking and watching movies sounds like real bliss to me...
I would call it a BLISSard...LOL...
I hope you are able to get out and about real soon :o)
