Garden Walk

My garden is my favorite teacher.  ~Betsy CaƱas Garmon

Greetings everyone,

I thought you might like to take a stroll through our flower gardens.  The week was so busy, and we didn't get a chance to go for a walk.  So, I grabbed the trusty camera and strolled our yard - searching for lovely summer blossoms to share.
I'm loving our purple foxglove.  The spots on them are so striking.  Sadly, we forgot the name of the lovely yellow flower in the first photo.
Our Japanese dogwood has the loveliest white blooms.  We can depend on it every year to fill the yard with its delicate beauty.  It was small when we first brought it home - but it's really grown huge within the last few years and has become one of my favorites.
I have a thing for pink and purple flowers.  Our speedwell is so bountiful and pretty!  I love the variagated color of these beauties - which remind me just a wee bit of carnations.
We love letting our lavender grow wild near our backdoor.  When there is a breeze, and our doors are open, the scent gently wafts in and fills our living room.   Ahhhh....
I recently found this gorgeous bumble bee garden stepping stone from My Garden Goddess.  It looks so pretty nestled near the marigolds.  The detail is just so gorgeous.
We discovered this adorable little toadstool nestled in the front garden.  I've not seen this type before - so it was definitely a welcome surprise!
Dad, your guiding hand on my shoulder will remain with me forever.  ~Author Unknown

This post is dedicated today to my dad, who is an avid gardener.  I'm fortunate that I got to spend time with him today.  Here's wishing him, my hubby (who is a furry baby dad) and all other daddies a most Happy Father's Day.

Til next time,
Theresa

Ahh Theresa there's a tear in my eye reading your post today. Lovely to see what's in bloom in your garden. Isn't that yellow flower an Evening Primrose? I always think that lovel pale yellow glows as the sun starts sinking in the sky. Lovely too to see your gardening Dad. My Dad was a keen gardener too and its why I keep on struggling to keep his garden tended now he's not there to do it.

thanks so much for dropping by my blog and giving me the link to the raw food site. I can't seem to get at it though, I've tried a few days, will try from my work computer and see if I can get it. I'm researching raw foods so this helps!

Glad you got to spend time with your dad, looks like you inherited his love of nature

Hi Theresa,

Oh, I love that bee stepping stone. Aren't bee themed items great? I didn't think the toadstool was real at first. I have some faux ones but yours is really incredible. How nice that you saw your dad today. I spent my day with dad as well - how lucky we are!
